Frequently Asked Questions
1. What can I expect during my personal consultation at the Vein Clinic & Med Spa?
Your first visit is all about you. During this confidential consultation, our experienced, doctor-led team takes the time to understand your concerns, medical history, lifestyle, and goals. We then perform a gentle ultrasound or visual vein mapping to identify the veins causing your symptoms. Using our proven approach and years of experience, we create a personalized treatment plan designed to be safe, effective, and fit your schedule and budget. You’ll leave feeling informed and confident, with clear next steps, simple pre-treatment tips, and a realistic timeline for achieving healthier, more comfortable legs.
2. How does Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA) treat varicose veins, and what recovery should I anticipate?
Endovenous laser ablation is a gentle, minimally invasive treatment designed to close problem veins and restore healthy circulation. Using ultrasound guidance, our experienced, doctor-led team places a very thin laser fiber through a tiny pinhole in the skin and delivers controlled heat to seal the affected vein. Blood is naturally redirected to healthier veins right away.
The procedure typically takes about 45 minutes and is performed with local anesthetic for comfort. Most patients walk out the same day, return to desk work right away, wear compression stockings for about a week, and simply take a short break from strenuous exercise while healing.
What is sclerotherapy and how is foam sclerotherapy different from traditional methods?
Sclerotherapy is a trusted, highly effective treatment used to fade and close unwanted veins. A specialized medical solution is gently injected into the vein, causing it to collapse and gradually disappear as your body redirects blood to healthier vessels. Over time, the treated veins fade and the skin looks clearer and smoother.
At Vein Clinic & Med Spa, we often use advanced foam sclerotherapy, which blends the same medicine with tiny micro-bubbles to create a thicker solution. This allows the treatment to stay in contact with the vein longer, making it especially effective for larger or more stubborn veins, often with fewer sessions and excellent, proven results.
Does insurance cover EVLT and my vein treatment?
Many patients are pleasantly surprised to learn that vein treatment is often covered by insurance. Most procedures like EVLT are commonly approved when varicose veins cause symptoms such as pain, swelling, heaviness, or discomfort. Our experienced team will help guide you through the process, verify your benefits, and explain your coverage so you understand your options before starting treatment.
5. What follow-up care can I expect after treatment, and how do you support long-term results?
Your care doesn’t stop after treatment, we’re here to support you every step of the way. We schedule follow-up visits, often within the first couple of weeks, to make sure you’re healing comfortably and seeing the results you expect. When needed, we use ultrasound or visual exams to confirm treated veins remain closed and your circulation is improving. Our team will guide you on compression wear, activity, and healthy habits to support lasting results. We also recommend annual check-ins to monitor your vein health, catch new concerns early, and help you maintain long-term comfort and confidence.
